Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  How much will it cost for a consultation?

A.  There is no charge for a consultation.

Q.  How much will I pay in attorney fees?

A.  The fees are on a contingent fee basis. Generally this means you will pay 1/3 of the amount of your settlement in attorney fees.

Q.  How long do I have to settle my case?

 A.  There is a time limit, or statute of limitations in every case. Depending on the kind of case you have and who the defendant is, that time limit will vary. An adult normally has two years in which to settle a case. If the case is against a city or county or other local government, you may have only one year. A different rule applies for children or adults who are incompetent.

Q.  Do I have a strong case?

 A.  This depends entirely upon your specific case and the details of it. We will need to talk with you directly before we can answer this question.

Q.  How long will it take for my case to be resolved?

 A.  Many cases take 1-3 years to resolve. It is important to know that no case is settled until the damages have been determined and all investigation and all the information gathering has been completed. It generally takes several months just to complete this primary phase. If a trial becomes necessary, it can take several years to complete the case.

Q.  How much will I get?

 A.  After damages are determined and all investigation and information gathering is completed we will make an evaluation of your case, discuss it with you, and attempt to arrive at a settlement figure.
